After lots of testing, I had decided I would be ordering Hoyt’s 2009 model GMX riser for my bow, which in my opinion is one of the most well designed risers in recent history. These hopes were squashed and my plans set back by up to two months when I called two shops and was told the color I wanted would be back ordered from six weeks to two months. Now of course, I could just order a different color, maybe a blue, or a black, or even a pearl white, but for those who have seen my bow, you know I’m an extremely picky, color coordinated person who thinks my bow should look like a million bucks. It’s a marble blue and black color, with blue, black, and chrome accents everywhere. Now of course, replace the blue and black marble riser with a blue and white lightning striked riser, and you can see why I’m a bit picky.
So now I have to make an unfortunate decision that affects my beloved archery: Do I wait for the color, or do I settle for something else?
